Job Description:

  • Directs and supervises activities of the ELC department’s personnel;
  • Ensures that each activity is age appropriate and that the ELC functions at the highest quality standards;
  • Develops activities that engage all children and advances each child’s wellbeing and learning;
  • Ensures that all Federal, State, Tribal and local codes, rules and regulations are followed;
  • Develops budget in cooperation with the WBE CEO;
  • Designs and reviews work schedules and duties to insure adequate staffing at all times;
  • Reports daily and as needed to the WBE Program Director;
  • Attends meetings and makes recommendations concerning the ELC.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred in Early Childhood Education or Child Development OR

A. Bachelor's preferred or higher in a child-related field including 18 semester hours course work in Early Childhood Education or Child Development and 480 hours of work experience OR

B. Associate's degree preferred in Early Childhood Education or Child Development including 18 semester hours Coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development and 480 hours of work experience OR

C. Montessori credential with 18 semester hours Coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development and 960 hours of experience OR

D. Bachelor’s degree preferred or higher in a related Social Science field, 480 hours of work experience and a min. 1 year verified experience working with children.

  • Must possess a valid Washington Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Current first Aid/CPR Certification (or within 3 months of employment)
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work with diverse ethnic, gender, age and cultural groups.
  • Have a genuine love for children and a personal commitment to making a difference in their lives.
  • Documented experience working with school age children with the ability to develop and implement age appropriate programs with an emphasis on academic improvement and relationship building skills.
  • Dependable and efficient with strong planning, time management, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to adapt to change, multi-task, and work independently.
  • Must possess an optimistic, outgoing, and enthusiastic personality.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement programs to help students improve academically and socially.

Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, carrying, bending, lifting up to 30lbs, climbing, fine manipulation, see and hear.

Salary: DOQ $50,000 Exempt Benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, Vacation and Sick Leave
